The U.S. Department of Justice announced today that two Mexican nationals have been sentenced following convictions tied to illegal reentry into the United States and the use of forged documents.

Both men had previously crossed back into the country without authorization, the Justice Department said. Prosecutors also established that each defendant relied on falsified documents as part of the offenses.

The Justice Department did not release additional details about the length or terms of the sentences in the information made available. What the agency confirmed is that both individuals are citizens of Mexico and that the sentencing occurred today.

The two men were held accountable for re-entering the country unlawfully and for presenting fraudulent paperwork, according to the Justice Department.
