A man from the St. Louis area has been sentenced to 200 months in prison for his role in a drug conspiracy that led to the overdose of two teenagers, one of whom died, the U.S. Department of Justice reported.

The Justice Department said one of the teens purchased a substance she believed to be Percocet. She overdosed after taking it and required multiple doses of Narcan to be revived, according to the Justice Department.

A second teenager died roughly two months after that first overdose, the Justice Department reported. The sentencing covers the defendant's role in the conspiracy that produced both incidents.

The 200-month prison term was handed down in connection with the drug conspiracy charge, the Justice Department confirmed.
