A northeast Missouri man has been sentenced to 11 years in federal prison on drug and firearms charges, the U.S. Department of Justice announced. John R. Breault, who is a convicted felon, entered guilty pleas to three separate criminal counts.
According to the U.S. Department of Justice, one count covered possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute. A second count addressed Breault's use of a firearm to advance his drug trafficking activity. The third count stemmed from his status as a felon: the Justice Department said he unlawfully possessed a firearm, which is prohibited for individuals with prior felony convictions.
The Justice Department confirmed the 11-year prison term as the outcome of Breault's guilty pleas across all three counts.
