A man from the Capital Region was sentenced to 180 months in federal prison for distributing and possessing child pornography, the U.S. Department of Justice announced.

John A. Sarcone III, who serves as First Assistant United States Attorney, joined in announcing the sentence. The U.S. Department of Justice also identified Craig L. Tremaroli as the FBI's Albany Field Office leader, holding the rank of Special Agent in Charge, as a co-announcer of the sentencing.

According to the U.S. Department of Justice, the FBI's Albany Field Office was involved in the investigation that led to the case. The sentence covers two separate offenses: the distribution of child pornography and its possession.

The U.S. Department of Justice confirmed the 180-month term, which was handed down to the Capital Region resident following the federal proceedings.
