Ronald A. Howard, a 59-year-old resident of South Dayton, New York, pleaded guilty to enticement of a minor after engaging in sexual activity with a 14-year-old girl, the U.S. Department of Justice said.
The case was heard in U.S. District Court. Judge John L. Sinatra, Jr. presided over the proceeding in which Howard entered his plea.
The charge carries a mandatory minimum prison term of 10 years. The maximum penalty allowed under the statute is life in prison, the Justice Department said.
U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo announced the guilty plea.
