A 58-year-old Seattle man was sentenced to 18 months in federal prison for sexually assaulting a teenager aboard a commercial flight, the U.S. Department of Justice announced.
The sentencing was handed down in U.S. District Court in Seattle. Charles Neil Floyd, First Assistant U.S. Attorney, announced the sentence, according to the Justice Department.
The charge was abusive sexual contact aboard an aircraft, the Justice Department said. The assault took place on a flight that departed Billings, Montana, with Seattle as its destination.
The victim was a teenager, per the Justice Department. The 58-year-old defendant is a resident of Seattle.
The Justice Department confirmed the 18-month prison term for the in-flight assault of the teenage victim.
