A 30-year-old Panama City man with a prior felony conviction has been indicted on three federal firearms charges, the U.S. Department of Justice announced.

Stephen Miles Bishop, who resides in Panama City, Florida, faces two counts of firearm possession by a convicted felon, the Justice Department said. He also faces a third count tied to possession of a short-barreled rifle.

The indictment was filed in federal court. According to the U.S. Department of Justice, the case originates from Tallahassee, Florida.

Bishop's status as a convicted felon forms the basis of the two possession counts, the Justice Department noted. All three charges stem from a single federal indictment brought against the 30-year-old Panama City resident.
