A New Orleans resident was sentenced to 92 months in federal prison for illegally possessing a firearm, the U.S. Department of Justice announced.
Eric Rogers, 35, pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, a charge brought under 18 U.S.C. Sections 922(g)(1) and 924(a)(8), according to the U.S. Department of Justice. United States District Judge Sarah S. Vance imposed the sentence on June 16, 2026.
In addition to the prison term, Rogers was ordered to serve three years of supervised release. The U.S. Department of Justice also reported that a mandatory special assessment of $100 was imposed.
United States Attorney David I. Courcelle announced the sentence. Rogers resides in New Orleans, Louisiana, and will serve just over seven years behind bars for the federal firearms conviction.
