A 32-year-old New Jersey man was sentenced to three years in federal prison for robbing a U.S. postal mail carrier, the U.S. Department of Justice said. U.S. District Judge Thomas Barber imposed the sentence in Tampa, Florida.

Tajmir Wyles pleaded guilty on December 4, 2025. The federal charges covered the robbery itself as well as receipt, possession, and concealment of stolen U.S. property.

The federal term will run consecutively with a separate sentence handed down in Dallas, Texas. That state sentence totals eight years. The Texas charges included obstruction, possession of a controlled substance, and unlawfully holding identifying information belonging to 50 or more individuals, according to the Justice Department.
