A 67-year-old Bethesda, Maryland, man has been indicted in connection with vandalism at the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, the U.S. Department of Justice announced.
The Department of Justice said the indictment was returned against David Hearn, who resides in Bethesda. According to the Department of Justice, the alleged vandalism took place on June 19, 2026.
U.S. Attorney Jeanine Ferris Pirro announced the charges against Hearn. The Department of Justice said Hearn was charged under a returned indictment tied to the damage done to the Reflecting Pool.
