At least 200,000 people have been displaced in Sudan since late 2025, the UN International Organization for Migration said on August 19, 2026, as armed conflict in the country intensifies and seasonal floods worsen an already large humanitarian emergency.
United Nations News reported that the IOM described the floods as destructive and said they are compounding the crisis alongside the fighting. The two pressures are affecting Sudan simultaneously, the agency said.
