A 28-year-old Indian national received a federal prison term of 121 months on July 8, 2026, after being convicted on two counts related to child sexual abuse material, the U.S. Department of Justice said.

The defendant, Ashish Kapoor, also goes by the alias Romy Kapoor. His sentencing took place in New Orleans, Louisiana. U.S. Attorney David I. Courcelle announced the sentence.

Federal prosecutors secured convictions against Kapoor on charges of transporting child pornography and separately on a charge of possessing such material, both federal offenses under U.S. law. The 121-month term amounts to just over ten years in prison.
