A total of 5 defendants have entered guilty pleas in federal court in Brooklyn on firearms trafficking and related charges, the U.S. Department of Justice reported.
The most recent plea came from Rohnique Posey, also known as "Pioneer." Posey admitted guilt on two counts: firearms trafficking conspiracy and distribution of cocaine base. According to the Justice Department, that plea was entered before United States Magistrate Judge Peggy Kuo.
Four other defendants had previously resolved their cases with guilty pleas, the Justice Department said. Karsem Allen, who goes by "Short," admitted to firearms trafficking conspiracy and also to possession of machine guns. Carolyn Hicks-Torres likewise pleaded guilty to both firearms trafficking conspiracy and possession of machine guns. Henry McCummings admitted to firearms trafficking conspiracy, and separately admitted to having a firearm with its identifying marks removed, per the Justice Department. Dominic Smith pleaded guilty to firearms trafficking conspiracy as well.
The Justice Department confirmed that all proceedings were held in Brooklyn. Across the 5 defendants, the charges span gun trafficking conspiracy, drug distribution, machine gun possession, and the possession of a firearm with defaced markings.
