A 36-year-old Petersburg man was found guilty on child sex trafficking charges by a federal jury, the U.S. Department of Justice reported. Marcus Keon Ruffin also faces conviction on a separate firearms count, stemming from his status as a convicted felon who was found in possession of a weapon.
According to the Justice Department, Ruffin is a resident of Petersburg, Virginia. The jury returned guilty verdicts on both the sex trafficking of minors and the illegal gun possession charge.
The Justice Department confirmed that Ruffin, age 36, now stands convicted on two federal counts: the trafficking of children for sexual purposes and unlawful firearm possession by someone with a prior felony conviction.
