A 33-year-old Parker, Arizona man received a 28-year federal prison sentence on June 23 after entering a guilty plea to second degree murder, the U.S. Department of Justice said.

United States District Judge Diane J. Humetewa imposed the term in Phoenix. The sentence totals 336 months. Judge Humetewa also ordered five years of supervised release to follow the prison term, according to the Justice Department.

Andre Anthony Miller, the defendant, had admitted his guilt to the second degree murder charge before the sentencing proceeding. The Justice Department did not disclose details about the underlying offense in the materials reviewed for this report.

Miller is 33 years old and was a resident of Parker at the time of the case. Parker is a city in Arizona. The sentencing took place in Phoenix, which is also in Arizona.

Upon completing his 336-month prison term, Miller will be subject to a five-year supervised release period, the Justice Department confirmed. Judge Humetewa presided over the case in the U.S. District Court sitting in Phoenix.
