Owen Flowers and Thalha Jubair, described as leading members of the Scattered Spider hacking collective, were each sentenced to five years and six months in prison on July 16, 2026, after pleading guilty to a cyberattack on Transport for London.
The attack took place in 2024 and caused an estimated £29 million in losses, according to The Record. Transport for London is the city's metropolitan transit system.
UK law enforcement said the arrests disrupted Scattered Spider's operations, TechCrunch reported. The group has been characterized as a prolific cybercrime collective.
