A San Antonio woman will spend 40 years behind bars after a federal court convicted her in a conspiracy involving the hostage taking of illegal aliens, the U.S. Department of Justice announced.
Jailene Marisol Reyes received the prison term in federal court, according to the Justice Department. The case centered on a hostage taking conspiracy, and the sentence reflects the federal charges tied to that scheme.
The Justice Department said the Homeland Security Task Force was responsible for disrupting the conspiracy. According to the Justice Department, the U.S. Border Patrol Targeting Unit led that task force throughout the investigation.
Reyes, a resident of San Antonio, now faces four decades of federal imprisonment as a result of her role in the illegal alien hostage taking conspiracy, the Justice Department reported.
