A ransomware attack struck Nichirei Logistics Group on July 22, 2026, halting warehouse operations and cutting off frozen food deliveries to thousands of clients across Japan, according to Dark Reading.

A cybercrime gang claimed responsibility for the intrusion, The Record reported. Kentucky Fried Chicken was among the major franchise clients whose supply was disrupted.

Nichirei Logistics Group, a Japanese food logistics company, said its warehouses are returning to normal operations. Shipments of frozen food are also being restored, the company told The Record.
