Meta removed an AI image-editing feature from Instagram after users pushed back against it, BBC News and TechCrunch reported. The feature, which let users alter content on the platform, had been available for only a few days before Meta pulled it.
The removal came in 2025, days after the feature's release, following what BBC News described as swift backlash from Meta's user base. Meta communicated the decision to Dylan Byers of Puck News, TechCrunch reported.
