Google overhauled its Images search product on July 14, 2026, shifting the interface away from direct search and toward personalized content discovery, according to Ars Technica and TechCrunch.

The centerpiece of the redesign is a "For You" gallery that appears when users open Google Images. The gallery is tailored to each person's interests and browsing history, draws on what Google calls a user's "unique interests," and is described as always-updated. The new interface also incorporates more AI and surfaces more images than the previous design did.

TechCrunch compared the layout to Pinterest's design approach. Ars Technica noted the overhaul coincides with the 25th anniversary of Google image search.
