A magnitude 6.7 earthquake struck 38 km northwest of Upahuacho, Peru on August 20, 2026, at 18:00:15 UTC, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The USGS placed the epicenter at coordinates 14.626°S, 73.616°W and recorded a depth of 66.67 km (41.42 miles). The agency assigned the event ID us6000tm81 to the quake.

One report was submitted to the USGS "Did You Feel It?" system, which logged a maximum reported intensity of V on the Modified Mercalli scale.
