Madison police opened a suspected illegal hazing investigation during the week of September 25, 2026, after about 30 young men were found in a fraternity house basement near the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus.
The men were partially clothed and had food, condiments, and other liquids on their bodies, according to ABC News and The Guardian. The basement where they were discovered was heated, The Guardian reported.
Police identified the men as pledges of the fraternity. Some showed signs of having been physically assaulted, The Guardian said.
