NASA released a new Hubble Space Telescope image of a star cluster to coincide with the July 4th holiday. The stars in the image appear in red, white, and blue, set against a dark background.

NASA described the image as resembling a sparkler waved at night. The individual stars glitter across the frame, producing the visual effect the agency compared to the handheld fireworks common at Fourth of July celebrations.

The image was released by NASA as a deliberate tie-in to the holiday. According to NASA, the cluster's stars display those three colors, red, white, and blue, scattered across a deep, dark field, echoing the appearance of a lit sparkler held up against a night sky.
