A 38-year-old Gainesville man has pleaded guilty in federal court to a series of drug trafficking and firearms offenses, the U.S. Department of Justice reported. Eddie Jerome Scott, a convicted felon, resides in Gainesville, Florida.

According to the U.S. Department of Justice, Scott admitted to distributing methamphetamine and to possessing methamphetamine with intent to distribute. The methamphetamine quantity involved exceeded 50 grams, the Justice Department stated. Scott also admitted to possessing both cocaine and fentanyl with intent to distribute, the agency said.

The Justice Department reported that Scott admitted to carrying a firearm during the commission of a drug trafficking crime. As a convicted felon, he also admitted to unlawfully possessing a firearm, per the same agency.

The U.S. Department of Justice confirmed that Scott entered his guilty plea in a federal courtroom. His admissions cover drug distribution, drug possession with intent to distribute, and two separate firearms-related offenses tied to the same conduct.
