The European Space Agency will stream a total solar eclipse live from Spain on August 12, 2026, beginning at 19:30 CEST, the agency announced on August 7, 2026.
The Moon's shadow will sweep across Spain during the eclipse, which will be visible across Europe. ESA's broadcast will originate from Observatorio Astrofísico de Javalambre, an observatory in Spain. Dame Dr. Maggie Aderin and ESA scientists will appear in the stream to explain the science behind the event.
ESA will also host a public event at Palacio de Congresos y Exposiciones de León, in León, Spain. That event will include science programming, hands-on activities, and safe eclipse viewing.
