Washington National Guard crews flew 146.5 hours of aerial operations to combat wildfires spreading across Washington state, the U.S. Department of Defense reported as of August 4, 2026.

Guard aircraft released 1,181 buckets of water over fire-affected areas during the response. The Defense Department said personnel coordinated with state and local partners throughout the mission.

Protecting communities, private property, and critical infrastructure from advancing fires were the stated objectives of the operation.
