An unvaccinated 40-year-old Pennsylvania woman died on September 13, 2026, from measles-related complications, becoming the state's third such fatality in under three weeks, according to NPR.
The county coroner's office said the woman had asthma and lung disease. A local coroner attributed her death to measles-related complications, Ars Technica reported.
NBC News said laboratory results confirming her measles infection had not yet been returned as of September 14, 2026, with results expected within days. The two earlier deaths in Pennsylvania occurred within roughly three weeks before September 13, 2026.
