The U.S. Embassy in Moscow issued a warning on October 31 about a threat it considered credible at Tsaritsyno Museum Reserve, telling Americans to stay away from the palace and park complex.
According to the embassy, the threat could result in mass casualties. Its alert told people to avoid the site and nearby crowds on October 31. It said Washington was coordinating its response with Russian authorities.
Russia’s Federal Security Service, the FSB, said U.S. information received through partner channels concerned preparations for an attack in Moscow and that it was taking measures, Reuters reported. That account did not name Tsaritsyno as the alleged target.
Reuters also reported that the reserve had temporarily closed and access to the park was restricted. It attributed that information to RIA, which cited Russian law enforcement sources.
Reuters recalled a separate U.S. warning issued in March 2024, before gunmen attacked Crocus City Hall outside Moscow. More than 140 people died in that attack, according to the agency.
