A magnitude 4.1 quake struck near Frazier Park on July 12, 2026 at 10:38 UTC. The epicenter was 2 km east-southeast of the town, at coordinates 34.813°N, 118.926°W, and the quake occurred at a depth of 13.09 km (8.13 miles). Frazier Park sits in Los Angeles County, in southern California. The USGS ShakeMap placed maximum estimated intensity at IV, while 709 responses to the agency's Did You Feel It survey produced a maximum reported intensity of V.

The following day, a magnitude 4.3 quake hit near Johannesburg, CA at 16:40 UTC on July 13, 2026. Its epicenter was 18 km west-southwest of that town, at 35.312°N, 117.815°W, at a depth of 7.55 km (4.69 miles). Johannesburg is in Kern County, in the Mojave Desert region. The USGS ShakeMap again showed a maximum estimated intensity of IV, and 826 Did You Feel It responses put the maximum reported intensity also at IV.

PAGER assigned a green alert to both events, the agency's lowest impact category.
