Twitch disclosed on August 12, 2026, that streamer content is fed into Amazon AI models by default, with an opt-out available to users who want to be excluded.

Amazon has drawn on Twitch content for AI training for years, Ars Technica reported. The platform said that user-generated material could also be applied to improvements in generative AI models going forward.

Twitch Chief Product Officer Mike Minton addressed the policy during a livestream held in response to user feedback, TechCrunch reported. He was direct about why the default was set the way it was: "If this was opt-in, nobody would opt in. That's honestly the answer."
