President Donald Trump proposed on October 8, 2026, converting a section of his privately owned golf club in West Palm Beach, Florida, into a retreat for future presidents, modeled on Camp David.

Trump described the concept as "Sort of a Camp David," according to NPR. Camp David, the long-established presidential retreat, sits near Washington.

ABC News and NPR both reported that Trump said the facility would be open to future presidents and their guests. Trump envisioned those presidents using the property for quiet weekends, NPR said.

The golf club in question is one of Trump's Florida courses and remains his private property.
