The Trump administration said on September 22, 2026, that it will disenroll 760,000 people from Affordable Care Act exchanges, alleging the affected participants were fraudulently enrolled or do not exist.
Vice President JD Vance was among the officials making the announcement, according to ABC News and NPR. Vance said the action would save $2.2 billion.
White House officials, NPR reported, further allege that some of the 760,000 individuals have no real existence. All of those targeted are participants in public healthcare exchanges.
