Tropical Storm Isaias was upgraded to hurricane status at 03:50 UTC on Wednesday, October 8, 2026, after the National Hurricane Center spent more than a day issuing successive wind speed probability graphics for the Atlantic storm.

The NHC began tracking the system, designated AL092026, on October 7, 2026, releasing the first 34-knot wind speed probability graphic at 08:54 UTC that morning. The agency published more than 20 separate graphic updates across the two days via nhc.noaa.gov, with each covering a 120-hour forecast window.

The pace of updates was steady throughout October 7. Graphics went out at 08:58 UTC, 09:22 UTC, 14:55 UTC, 15:04 UTC, 15:22 UTC, 20:50 UTC, 20:54 UTC, and 21:22 UTC, among others. Two additional updates followed in the early hours of October 8, at 03:00 UTC and 03:22 UTC, before the center issued the hurricane-status graphic less than an hour later.
