TikTok settled with Alabama on September 26, 2026, agreeing to pay at least $100 million and adopt new safety features for teenage users, according to ABC News and TechCrunch.
The deal resolved a case that had been heading toward trial, ABC News reported. Under the terms, the short-form video platform will put teen safety measures in place as part of its obligations.
TechCrunch reported that Alabama had alleged TikTok misled users about how safe the platform was and that it was deliberately built to create addiction in children.
