A federal indictment unsealed on July 14, 2026, charges three Russian nationals and two bulletproof hosting companies with cybercrimes that caused more than $62 million in losses across 21 U.S. states and multiple countries, the U.S. Department of Justice said.
The two companies named are Media Land and ML.Cloud. Both are described as bulletproof hosting providers that allegedly aided hackers and profited from attacks on U.S. critical infrastructure, according to the indictment filed in the Northern District of Ohio.
The indictment was originally filed in 2024 before prosecutors unsealed it in July 2026, TechCrunch reported. The investigation that produced the charges spanned seven years, the Justice Department said.
Victims were spread across 21 states and several countries outside the United States, with total losses exceeding $62 million, CyberScoop reported.
