Thomas Markle Sr., the 82-year-old estranged father of Meghan Markle, was federally charged with one count of child pornography possession on or before November 7, 2026, and placed under house arrest, according to NBC News and BBC News.
The charge stems from an FBI search of two storage units he rented in the Los Angeles area. BBC News reported that the material involved constitutes child sex abuse material.
Markle appeared in court in Florida, the BBC reported. NBC News said it contacted his defense attorney but received no response.
