Ahmad Umar Agha, a Syrian Electronic Army member who operated online as "Th3Pr0", was sentenced to 42 months in federal prison on October 30, 2026, for his role in a hacking conspiracy targeting Western entities, according to The Record.
The conspiracy was organized by close advisers to former Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, The Record said. Agha's sentencing took place in federal court in Virginia.
Among his most recognized acts, CyberScoop reported, was a fraudulent tweet posted from the Associated Press account falsely claiming that President Obama had been injured in a White House bombing.
