A shooting in the early hours of August 15, 2026 injured five people at Virginia State University, one of them critically, according to BBC News and The Guardian.
Multiple suspects were involved, and several remained at large after the incident, The Guardian reported. Police responded to the scene and released initial details while the university was under lockdown.
Virginia State University sits roughly 20 miles, or about 32 kilometres, south of Richmond.
