The Federal Trade Commission has reached a $2.25 million settlement with RentGrow over alleged violations of the Fair Credit Reporting Act and the FTC Act, the agency said in July 2026.

RentGrow produces consumer reports used by landlords and property managers for tenant screening. The FTC alleged the company failed to maintain reasonable procedures to ensure the accuracy of those reports, included duplicate records in consumer files, and did not disclose the sources of its data.

The settlement requires RentGrow to pay the full $2.25 million amount, according to the FTC.
