NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman piloted a flyover on July 4, 2026, as part of celebrations marking 250 years of American independence, NASA reported. The flight passed over the Great American State Fair, an event staged on the National Mall. The Mall sits in Washington, D.C.

According to NASA, Isaacman flew a Northrop F-5 Tiger that he personally owns. The aircraft carried the NASA chief over the fairgrounds as crowds gathered below for the anniversary festivities.

The Great American State Fair was organized to commemorate the United States' 250th anniversary, NASA said. Isaacman, in his role as NASA Administrator, led the flyover as a centerpiece of the July 4 celebration. The Northrop F-5 Tiger, a privately held jet belonging to Isaacman himself, made the pass over the National Mall site where the fair was held.
