District court Judge Timothy Kelly on October 14, 2026, extended an order barring the Trump administration from blocking reporters from CNN, MS Now, and Politico from entering White House grounds in Washington D.C.
The ruling keeps the three outlets' journalists inside the White House while a coalition lawsuit they joined against the administration works through the courts, The Guardian reported.
The Trump administration had removed the three organizations from White House grounds on September 18, 2026. Trump cited what he called constant fake news reporting as the reason. Six days after that ban took effect, Kelly granted the outlets a 14-day temporary reprieve on September 24, 2026. The October 14 order extends that protection beyond the initial two-week window.
CNN, MS Now, and Politico are among the news organizations that brought the underlying legal action against the administration, according to The Guardian and ABC News.
