The U.S. House of Representatives voted on September 16, 2026, to find billionaire investor Leon Black in contempt of Congress, citing his refusal to cooperate with a congressional investigation into his ties to Jeffrey Epstein.
Black declined to appear for a deposition before the committee examining Epstein's conduct, according to BBC News and NPR. He also withheld documents related to his relationship with Epstein, a convicted sex offender.
The Department of Justice will now decide whether to pursue criminal charges against Black, NPR reported.
