Google launched a global expansion of its Play Age Signals API on July 29, 2026, giving Android developers a way to adjust app experiences according to users' age ranges without exposing personal data, TechCrunch and Ars Technica reported.
The API is designed to preserve user privacy while letting developers customize what their apps show or offer depending on a user's age bracket. According to Ars Technica, the age-range settings are configured by parents through Family Link, a Google product built for parental controls.
The rollout covers developers on Google Play worldwide.
