The European Commission's College of Commissioners traveled to Cork, Ireland, on July 2 and 3, 2026, for the body's customary visit to the country holding the EU Presidency. Ireland currently holds that rotating role.

Commission President Ursula von der Leyen led the delegation. The European Commission said the Cork trip follows a longstanding practice of meeting with the government of whichever EU member state holds the Presidency.

Von der Leyen addressed the visit's purpose directly. "Europe needs to navigate change. Ireland can help chart the course," she said.

The Commission published its announcement from Brussels on July 9, 2026.
