Deutsche Telekom is partnering with OpenAI to weave artificial intelligence into its core operations, with the goal of becoming an AI-native telecommunications company, OpenAI News reported on July 10, 2026.

The effort spans four areas of the company's business. Customer service, employee workflows, network operations, and voice services are all included in the transformation scope, according to OpenAI News.

Deutsche Telekom's ambition, as described by OpenAI News, is not limited to adding AI tools at the margins. The company is pursuing a structural shift across its telecommunications operations, applying AI at the level of both customer-facing services and internal processes.
