Jacob Allen Morley, 28, serving a life sentence for a 2022 murder conviction tied to Carter County, escaped from the Northwest Correctional Complex in Tiptonville, Tennessee on the evening of October 25, 2026. Staff discovered he was unaccounted for at approximately 11:30 PM that night, the Tennessee Department of Correction announced on October 26, 2026.
Morley slipped through a fence and fled in a stolen truck, according to The Guardian. Security footage captured him leaving in his prison uniform.
NBC News reported that authorities released surveillance images connected to the escape. As of October 27, 2026, a manhunt was still ongoing, The Guardian said.
