Amazon paused all operations with cargo carrier 21 Air on September 14, 2026, after an Amazon-branded aircraft operated by the carrier crashed on landing in Miami, killing five people.

The plane veered off the runway during the landing, NPR reported. 21 Air is headquartered in North Carolina and had been moving Amazon packages since 2024.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing, according to NPR. NBC News reported that the crash occurred earlier in September 2026, before Amazon announced the suspension on September 14.
