A 35-year-old Albany woman appeared in federal court on August 20, 2026, facing a charge of attempting to provide material support to ISIS in connection with an alleged plot against the New York State Capitol.
The U.S. Department of Justice identified the defendant as Jessica Bowie, an Albany, New York resident. The charge centers on her alleged effort to support ISIS, a designated foreign terrorist organization, and the Justice Department said the plot was ISIS-inspired.
Bowie's August 20 court appearance was her initial federal proceeding in the case.
