Aid officials warned on September 15, 2026, that the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo is continuing to widen, even as responders have achieved some partial containment, United Nations News reported.

The outbreak is unfolding across a vast geographic area of the country. Officials described it as deadly and said ground teams need additional resources to sustain their response.

In the same statement, officials renewed their call for international support, saying the assistance is needed to help those working directly on the outbreak.
