Aid cuts since January 2025 left over a million women without support, UN says

At least 1 million women and girls have been cut off from critical humanitarian services since January 2025, UN Women said on Friday, July 10, 2026.

The United Nations gender equality agency described the scale of the cuts as unprecedented. Women's organizations operating in crisis zones are being pushed toward collapse as a direct result, UN Women said.

United Nations News reported that the funding reductions began in January 2025 and have continued to strip away services that women and girls in crisis zones depend on.
